Quoted per door: $0000 · final price depends on ceiling height, door weight, and spring setup
A high-lift conversion re-engineers your garage door’s track and spring system so the door travels up the wall and stores high against the ceiling — instead of hanging in the middle of the room. It’s the modification that makes a 4-post or 2-post car lift possible, and it cleans up overhead space for storage platforms and taller vehicles.
What a high-lift conversion involves
- New vertical + high-lift track sized to your ceiling height
- Re-engineered torsion spring system — drums, springs, and shaft matched to the new travel geometry
- Opener change: a standard ceiling-rail opener can’t follow high-lift track. We install a wall-mount jackshaft opener — typically the LiftMaster 98022 with battery backup and automatic lock
- Door balancing and safety calibration after conversion
Is your garage a candidate?
Most sectional torsion-spring doors qualify. What we check during your quote:
- Ceiling height and available side room
- Door weight and condition (hurricane-rated doors are heavier — spring math matters)
- Obstructions: lighting, ducts, storage racks
- Whether your current door is worth converting or better replaced — we’ll tell you straight
Car lift + high-lift in one visit
Planning a vehicle lift? We coordinate the door conversion around your lift installer’s clearance requirements so the door never meets the lift. One quote covers track, springs, and the wall-mount opener.

Frequently asked questions
How much ceiling clearance do I gain?
The door parks within roughly a foot of the ceiling (exact figure depends on track and ceiling height) — we measure and tell you the real number in your quote.
Can I keep my current opener?
Usually no — trolley openers need the door to travel along a ceiling rail. The conversion pairs with a wall-mount jackshaft opener; see the LiftMaster 98022.
How much does a high-lift conversion cost?
Our conversions are quoted at $0000 plus the wall-mount opener if needed; the exact price depends on ceiling height, door weight, and spring configuration.
